Artificial Solutions Scores with Kindred Voice Betting Prototype

Artificial Solutions, the leading specialist in enterprise-strength Conversational AI, announced today that Kindred Futures, the innovation arm of Kindred Group, has expanded on its use of Teneo® to launch a pioneering voice betting prototype to challenge the way consumers may bet in the near future.

Kindred has integrated Google’s speech recognition services into its existing Teneo based conversational AI application built for Facebook Messenger to facilitate voice betting on six top European football leagues & competitions over Google Home. The prototype creates a seamless betting experience that could redefine the way the users bet.

Teneo enables sophisticated conversational applications that have been built on one channel or language to be quickly deployed across other channels and languages, and to support multiple input modes.

“The flexible architecture of Teneo allows enterprises to easily utilise other third-party AI assets, such as Automated Speech Recognition to enhance their offerings,” says Andy Peart, CMSO of Artificial Solutions. “This latest development from Kindred shows how enterprises benefit from working with a conversational AI platform that allows existing applications to be expanded to meet new demands and capabilities.”

Automated Speech Recognition (ASR) technology automatically transcribes spoken words into text. However, despite significant progress with ASR, errors still regularly occur such as adding extra words that were not spoken or transposing one word for another potentially changing the meaning of what the user wanted to say.

Using a number of proven ASR-handling strategies, the Teneo platform precisely fills the gaps left by ASR systems, increasing the quality of understanding and the end-user experience. Teneo then takes this input and adds the intelligent understanding that enables the application to interpret the user’s request correctly and take the most appropriate action.

Will Mace, Head of Kindred Futures describes the project as “an experiment to see whether the speech recognition technology was at a level or standard to cope with the nuance of sports betting.” He continues: “Delivering great experiences for our customers is at the forefront of what we do, making the best use of cutting-edge technology to deliver the products and services they want, or may require in the future.”

The product is currently in prototype stage and not yet available to customers. Initially created using Google’s speech recognition services, the underlying Teneo technology is fully agnostic, meaning it can plug-in to Alexa, Siri, Cortana and whichever smart assistant comes next.
